Who Deserves the NBA Championship

While I am a Celtics fan and a fair weather fan at best; I believe that the team and Doc Rivers deserve a championship; there are numerous people involved with the Celtics who do not deserve to see them win a championship.

The Fans - For the most part the fans of the Boston Celtics do not deserve to see the Green win a title. At least 95% of the 18,000 people that will be at Game 1 tonight were bashing the Celts at this time last year. Most of them haven't even touched a basketball, and they show no emotion. The Celtics fans are the worst in the Association; they only make noise when the big board tells them too, and they show more emotion when they see Gino than when they see points scored. While there are a few true Celtics fans, most of them should stop degrading real fans and admit that are fair-weather; I did.

Danny Ainge - Danny Ainge is still one of the worst general managers in all of sports. Yes, his acquisitions of Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett helped revive the Celtics he still doesn't know how to manage a team. He inherited one of the league's best teams when he took over in 2003 and turn them into a rec league team. He fired Jim O'Brien because he disagreed with his whole "youth for the future" idea. So Ainge went and got his "youth" by drafting or acquiring Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Delonte West, Tony Allen, and Rajon Rondo. With the exception of Rondo, none of them are Celtics today. So when the man who preached youth turned to veteran star power the team improved, but that doesn't change the fact that Danny Ainge is still one of the worst general managers in sports. A few good deals doesn't mean that you are good; just ask Dan Duquette.

Wyc Grousebeck and Celtics Ownership - Wyc makes me sick. The first time I saw him at a game on TV or with the team at all was after Game 6 a week ago hoisting the trophy. He just shows up when the team plays well; he's the Pat Reilly of owners. During his off time he managed to screw up the basketball experience for true fans. At the last two games that I have attended I saw a BMX team (who kept falling), an awful drum line, dozens of unnecessary videos on the big screen, and lackadaisical fans. Wyc felt that the people who bought tickets to a BASKETBALL game wouldn't enjoy watching BASKETBALL; so he decided to dilute the experience for real fans. Go away Wyc we don't need you.
